Babu Anant Ram Janta College, Kaul which was established in 1970 and was the first college affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra following the path of its visionary founder, late Babu Anant Ram Ji, Ex-MLA in erstwhile State of Punjab and architect of this institution, late Ch. Ishwar Singh Ji, Ex-Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha to disseminate quality education in educationally starved rural area.
The college is situated in agrarian, rural and literary backward region of the village Kaul, the village of Arjun Awardee, International Volleyball player Late Sh. Balwant Singh, so craze for sports and games dominates the surrounding area. Babu Anant Ram Janta College, Kaul accredited with the grade B+ in 2003 by NAAC in cycle-I accreditation, is spread over area of 44,402 sq.m. with architectural beautiful buildings, administrative block, fully computerized library, seminar hall, separate rooms for each faculty, well equipped laboratories of departments of Physics, Chemistry, Physical Education and Computer Science and banking facilities (three banks have branches in college campus).
The college has one specially built volleyball and basketball stadium and another big stadium with playgrounds for other games to cater the needs of sports crazy people of the area. The institution has come a long way by striving hard to enrich our academic and administrative practices since its inception. In present changing scenario of global competitiveness, the college has adapted itself to the needs and relevance of education. Babu Anant Ram Janta College, Kaul switched on demanding courses by offering degree level courses of B.Sc. (Non-medical), B.Sc. (Physical Education, Health Education & Sports) and vocational course, Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.), in addition to its traditional courses of B.A. and B. Com.
Vision and objectives of our institution is to impart qualitative education for the establishment of civilized, ethical and developed social pattern to contribute and strengthen the spirit of nation building. In order to prepare an action plan for every new academic session, academic calendar and time-table is prepared in accordance to university norms. The college imparts quality education by following curriculum framed by affiliating university. The curriculum is designed by Board of Studies of affiliating university Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra in which seven of our faculty members have been appointed from time to time.
The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject. To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution. To fulfill the aspirations of sports loving persons and explore their potential in sports, the college has started specialized courses such as Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) and B.Sc. Physical Education, Health Education and Sports in addition to regular subject of Physical Education at under-graduate level. The college also organizes workshops, seminars and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology.
