About the College

Babu Anant Ram Janta College, Kaul, established in 1970, was the first college affiliated with Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Following the vision of its founders, the late Babu Anant Ram Ji, Ex-MLA in the erstwhile State of Punjab, and the late Ch. Ishwar Singh Ji, Ex-Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, the college aimed to provide quality education in an educationally starved rural area. Situated in Kaul, an agrarian, rural, and educationally backward region, and the village of Arjun Awardee and International Volleyball player Late Sh. Balwant Singh, the college is deeply rooted in a community passionate about sports.

Accredited with a B+ grade by NAAC in its first cycle in 2003 and accredited with 2.85 CGPA in second cycle of NAAC in 2016 the college spans 44,402 sq.m. and features architecturally impressive buildings, an administrative block, a fully computerized library, a seminar hall, separate rooms for each faculty, well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Physical Education, and Computer, Geography and banking facilities with two branches on campus. The college also houses a specially built volleyball and basketball stadium and a larger stadium with playgrounds for other sports, catering to the sports enthusiasts in the area.

Since its inception, the institution has continuously strived to enhance its academic and administrative practices, adapting to the global competitiveness of the present era. In addition to traditional courses like B.A. and B.Com., the college offers degree-level courses such as Bechlor of Physical Science), B.Sc. (Physical Education, Health Education & Sports), and a vocational course, Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.).

The college’s vision and objectives focus on imparting quality education to establish a civilized, ethical, and developed social pattern, contributing to nation-building. Each academic session is carefully planned with an academic calendar and timetable in accordance with university norms. The college follows a curriculum designed by the Board of Studies of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, with seven of its faculty members serving on the board from time to time. ICT facilities, including computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners, and printers, are available to enhance curriculum delivery, supported by a vast library of books.

To foster students’ skills and personality development, the college regularly organizes curricular and extracurricular activities. Specialized courses like the Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) and B.Sc. Physical Education, Health Education, and Sports have been introduced to meet the aspirations of sports-loving individuals. Additionally, the college organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences to improve teaching skills and methodologies.
